RIVER RHYTHMS DANCE CENTER OFFERS
RECREATIONAL DANCE CLASSES IN A
MULTITUDE OF STYLES, FOR ALL LEVELS

River Rhythms Dance Center's recreational dance classes cater to students school age and younger. Below are some brief descriptions to help you in deciding what classes might be right for your child.

Toddler Creative Movement​
Ages 2–3

Our
Toddler Creative Movement​ Program at River Rhythms Dance Center is designed for toddlers ages 2–3 years old. This class is structured to meet the needs of a developing young child.

The
Toddler Creative Movement​ programs run in 10 week sessions and one 5 week session. There will be 4 sessions held over the course of our school year season (September-June). 

Toddler Creative Movement​ students do not perform in the recital. 

Dress Code

Toddler Creative Movement students should wear a pink leotard and pink tights to class. They should wear pink leather ballet slippers on their feet. Please avoid purchasing the silk ballet slippers that are available to younger dancers as they are slippery and can cause slipping in the classroom. Tutus and dance skirts are optional. ​
 

Rhythm Kids
Pre-school (Ages 3–4)   |   Kinder (Ages 5–6)

Our Rhythm Kids Program at River Rhythms Dance Center is designed for the young dancer ages 3–6 years old. We have two levels of classes in this program. The pre-school program is specialized to meet the needs of the 3–4 year old child. Our Kinder Dance program is specialized to meet the needs of the slightly more developed 5-6 year old child.

The Rhythm Kids program runs throughout the course of a school year.

Preschool kids have a ballet dance in the recital.

Kinder dance has a ballet and tap dance in the recital.

Dress Code

Rhythm Dancers
 Petite, (Ages 6-9) |  Junior, (Ages 10 and up)

Petites have a ballet, tap, and jazz dance in the recital.

Juniors have a ballet, tap, and jazz dance in the recital.

Acro classes don’t have a dance in the recital.

Hip Hop has a dance in the recital. 


Our Rhythm Dancers Program at River Rhythms Dance Center is split in to levels based on the age of the dancer as well as their developmental ability. For the most part a child’s physical development and maturity develops with age so this is why classes are typically split by age level. In the circumstance that a child may be more advanced than their class placement, the teacher will approach the parent about moving their child in to a different class that will best meet the needs of that dancer.

Dress Code - Check out our studio store for links
Rhythm Dancers should wear a black leotard and light suntan convertible tights. Black booty shorts or a black dance skirt is optional.
Ballet class:
Dancers should wear pink leather ballet slippers.
Tap class:
Dancers should wear tan Mary-Jane tap shoes.
Jazz class:
Dancers should wear tan pull-on Jazz boots.
Hip Hop/Acro class:
Dancers should wear a black leotard for Acro with athletic clothes (shorts, shirt, sweatpants) for hip hop. Dancers have to wear indoor sneakers for hip hop and bare feet for Acro.
